Announcing the NES Logo Contest!
We recently decided to rebrand our proposed model for an alternative economic system built on Gesellian principles. Through soliciting suggestions and opinions from our subscribers and supporters, we have decided to change the name from the Enterprise Zone (EZ) to the Natural Economic System (NES). After considering a number of proposed alternatives, we felt that this name strikes the best balance of communicating our mission in an accessible way while also acknowledging the conceptual roots of the model in the writings of Silvio Gesell. Our heartfelt thanks go out to Howard Switzer, who proposed the name!
Looking forward, we have some exciting new projects in the works which we will be announcing publicly very soon. In conjunction with these projects, we will be rolling out a new version of the NES proposal.
What we don’t yet have is an eye-catching logo that can be used to establish the NES brand and communicate the essence of the model. And since our subscribers were so helpful in coming up with the brand name, we thought there might be some folks out there who would like to take a crack at designing a logo for us.
The themes that we hope the logo will communicate are: robust, organic growth, interconnectedness, community ownership of the earth, and inclusive, adaptable governance.
If you’d like to submit an entry, please email it to josh@silviogesell.com. If we choose your logo design, we’ll send you a SGF t-shirt, coffee mug and sticker to express our gratitude. Entries will be accepted through June 30th.
Thanks!
